Course Description

This non-credit bearing short learning programme is designed as a Stimulated Enterprise Development programme to provide capacity in new venture creation and entrepreneurship. In addition, it is a platform for participants to understand and learn how to fulfil the compliance requirements of specific sector financiers, as well as increase their skills and knowledge around pitching and business presentation. The programme could be offered in various modes totalling 200 notional hours. It could be conducted over a 6-week period at 6 hours per day, over a period of 12-week at 3 hours per day, or on weekend blocks over a period of 12-week at 16 hours per weekend. An additional, 3-months of business development support is provided through coaching.

Course Outcomes

After completion of this course the participants should be able to:

  • Identify and assess their own business ideas/opportunities for a new venture,
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the relationship between costs, revenue and profits,
  • Develop and present business, financial and/or marketing plans based on a budget for a new or existing venture,
  • Use knowledge of legal requirements to ensure compliance with legal and organizational requirements in any business environment.
