Dr Patrick Ebewo is a distinguished enterprise and entrepreneurship development expert renowned for his extensive contributions to academia and social impact initiatives within the Southern African Development Community (SADC) region. With over a decade of hands-on experience collaborating with both private and public enterprises, he has played a pivotal role in shaping and moderating entrepreneurship programs geared towards creating positive societal change.

Throughout his illustrious career, Dr Ebewo’s dedication to sustainable community and entrepreneurial development has been evident through his establishment of ground-breaking initiatives. He was instrumental in founding the Bopangpeo Business Accelerator NPC, The Tshwane University Technology Arts (Creative Enterprise) Incubator, a UNESCO Chair in Cultural Policy and Sustainable Development for Southern Africa, and the Centre for Entrepreneurship Development. These initiatives have left an indelible mark on the region’s entrepreneurship landscape.

Dr Ebewo’s remarkable achievements have garnered him numerous accolades and honours, reflecting his commitment to excellence and innovation. He was recognised as a Mandela Rhodes Scholar (Cohort 2012, South Africa), an esteemed Harambe Entrepreneur Associate (HEA’ 2013, USA), and a World Economic Forum Global Shaper (Tshwane Hub, South Africa) for the 2013/2014 term.

Dr Ebewo serves in dual capacities at the Tshwane University of Technology (South Africa). As the Head of the Department for Management and Entrepreneurship, he brings his wealth of experience and expertise to shape the academic curriculum and guide aspiring entrepreneurs. Additionally, he holds the position of Head for the TUT Centre for Entrepreneurship Development, where he spearheads initiatives to accelerate the formation of sustainable emerging businesses. Under his leadership, the Centre facilitates innovative business ideas, cultivates entrepreneurial competence, and fosters a culture of peer support and networking.

Dr Ebewo holds a Doctoral degree in Business Administration, specialising in Entrepreneurship Development, alongside a series of distinguished degrees and diplomas. His educational journey includes a cum laude Diploma in Accounting and Business Studies, a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, a cum laude B Tech in Management, and a Master’s in Entrepreneurship.

Dr Ebewo’s influence extends beyond academia, as he is officially recognised by the South African Institute of Professional Accountants (SAIPA) as a Professional Business Advisor (SA), and he holds memberships with the Southern Africa Institute of Management Scientists (SAIMS) and the research portfolio committee of Coaches and Mentors of South Africa (COMENSA). These affiliations underscore his commitment to advancing his fields of expertise and contributing to the broader professional community.
